Questions To Get Started

So, you have decided that it is time for a change in your life! That’s exciting! Let me be the first to tell you “CONGRATULATIONS”!

The road to change can be a difficult one, but it is well worth it if you are willing to put in the effort to make adjustments and make room for good things to come your direction. Sometimes, starting a new path can seem scary and full of so many options, which inevitably leaves so many questions. If you are wondering where to start, take a moment and ask yourself these questions. They are sure to help you figure out the direction you personally need to go!

Take a moment to ask yourself these #1-#5 of the next 12 questions:

  1. What do I want my life to look like at this time next year?
  2. What do I hope to accomplish in the next 6 months?
  3. What can I accomplish today that will help me take a step forward, even if it is a small step?
  4. What legacy do I want to leave behind?
  5. What is the most important thing to me?

Once you have answered these questions, you are ready to face the harder truths of the road you are about to embark on. You personally know what your goals are, you know what you want, and you have the passion to go after that thing with all of your heart.  Setting up the framework is the easiest part. It is the step-by-step, day to day motivation that can be tricky, and that is why it is crucial that you ask yourself the next 5 questions:

  1. Who are the people in my life that will support me?
  2. Who are the people in my life that might not support me?
  3. What are some of the obstacles I might face?
  4. What can I do to prepare for those obstacles?
  5. What are some of the victories I can expect?

Unfortunately, not every single person in your life is likely to be on board. Sometimes, when someone cannot feel the same feelings as you or see the same possibilities as you do, they are quick to oppose the change you want to make and instead might encourage you to stay with what is “safe”. Please, do not allow this to keep you from going the distance and making your life exactly what you want it to be. You and you alone are born into this world and you and you alone will exit out of it. It is up to you to make every single moment in between count! I believe that the next two questions will truly speak for themselves. Let them sink in:

  1. Can you afford NOT to chase after your dreams, goals, passions, and purpose?
  2. If you do not give 100% to achieving your dreams right now, will you regret it?

Don’t waste any more time- go after your dreams with your whole heart. You won’t regret it.
